The response to Pateros Celebrates Steelhead Season has been tremendous. I have received a ton of inquiries through my web site and Facebook pages, and I wanted to give folks some more details. The celebration starts with a dinner at the Central Building, which is near the bakery, at 6 p.m. The dinner will include grilled smoked chicken, home made potato salad, home made corn bread and beanless chili, and the cost is $20.00. At 7 p.m. the seminars will begin. First up will be Kevin van Bueren who will show people his fly fishing techniques on the Methow River. Next up will be Keith Roe who will share his bobber and jig fishing secrets for fishing the Methow and Okanogan rivers. Last up will be Shane Magnuson, who will talk about bobber and jig fishing on the main stem Columbia River in the vicinity of Pateros. This is a great opportunity to learn from the experts about steelhead fishing in the area. There will also be a lot of prizes handed out in between the presentations that will include overnight stays at local hotels, meals and other items. Everyone should plan on spending the night and fishing the next day. Steelhead fishing should be excellent!
