By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." The quote from FDR in his 1933 Presidential Inauguration rings in my head. And it was Patton in a letter to his troops that read, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all." I'm not sure if those quotes hang in my brain because they mean something to me or because my Dad was a history teacher. Either way, when my alarm went off last Sunday morning and I opened one crusty eye to blurrily looked across my darkened room to see it was 5:00 a.m., those quotes came to mind. Maybe it was an internal coach telling to get my hind end out of bed and do what I set out to do, go fishing. But the weariness in my mind and the tiredness in my bones told me something else, "stay in bed." The fight was real. The internal battle of doing what you should versus doing what you want. And for me, it was making a conscience choice to either have something to write about today, or not. So, here I sit by my 60-watt bulb, with no fish story to tell. But I'm rested! Until next time, Good Fishing!
