Well, I got the sandbags in the back of my truck. One of things I am sure to do before winter gets serious up here in Leavenworth. Looking at the weather forecast, it looks like plenty of snow is on the way. It makes it difficult, but not impossible to get the Kingfisher out on the water. Looking back on what I was doing at this time the past couple of years, I see that I was making trips Brandts Landing on Rufus Woods, and Spring Canyon and Keller on Lake Roosevelt to fish from the shore. I usually do pretty good, too. I shared a video earlier this summer, showing what the fire did at Brandt Landing. I want to get up there and see what it’s like fishing from my favorite spot. Heck, it just may mean that casting is easier. I have caught some dandy triploids from the shore at Brandts. Lake Roosevelt can fish great for rainbow trout, that average 16 inches. At both locations—Brandts Landing or Lake Roosevelt--I just cast a marshmallow and shrimp combo and get some of the best-tasting trout you can find anywhere in the state.

Here I am at Brandts Landing reeling in a nice fish from the shore in early December in a past season.
