It’s a terrific time of the year. Everything is starting to happen. The lowland lakes are open and trout fishing is great on lakes throughout the region. Walleye are coming out of the spawn on Potholes, Banks, and Moses Lake, so walleye anglers can expect improved fishing as we move further into spring. I believe we are in for the best walleye fishing we’ve had in a few seasons on these major reservoirs. My fishing buddy Brian Neilson and I only got three fish on Banks last week, but they were all over 20 inches. Shelby Ross is getting more walleye on Potholes now, and Austin Moser sent me some photos of some whopper walleye he got on Moses Lake last week. I am going to find out how the kokanee fishing is on Lake Chelan. I had some great days this winter and it should be even better now that fish have moved further down into the lower basin. I hear they are off Rocky Point now. I have heard that the big kokanee are back at Palmer Lake, and another lake that is on my list this season is Deep Lake, near Park Lake north of Soap Lake. Oh boy, here we go!
