By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. It's that transition time where those of us who hunt in addition to fish are planning and preparing for the upcoming seasons. That doesn't mean we put the rods and reels away. It just means that we add to the arsenal behind the seat or in the gun rack as we get some target shooting in as well. Dad and I were not drawn for anything this year, so I was quick to jump online at the first availability to purchase leftover multi-season deer tags. The Fish and Wildlife's website was hammered and was very slow, but I was able to get both of us one of the leftover 26-hundred tags in about 20-minutes last Wednesday. The few leftover multi-season elk tags were going into a drawing for those who put in for them and were to be notified by email if you were drawn. Now that we have a longer season for deer hunting, Dad and I are making our plans. This will allow us to chase deer during archery season AND rifle season. We gave up muzzleloader hunting decades ago. Oh to have options at hand! Until next time, Good Hunting AND Fishing!
