By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Sometimes the fish gods smile upon you and lay a bounty at your feet. Other times, you feel scorned and leave empty-handed. Whenever the fall Chinook fishery heats up at Vernita I can't help but think of an epic day on board with Shane Magnuson of Upper Columbia Guide Service. Dave and I hopped on with several of Shane's regular clients to search the waters below Vernita Bridge along the Hanford Reach for King Salmon. Shane had been having great success using eggs off a diver across from the C Reactor. It wasn't long before the sizzle of line and the buzz of the reel clickers could be heard as we boated one nice fish after another. The six guys on board the boat that day became quite a choreographed team as rods were cleared while an angler battled the fish, Shane maneuvering the boat along the current, staying away from other boats, and positioning fish, angler and net perfectly. We ended up with 16-Kings that day, 13-adults and 3-jacks. If you're on our Facebook page, I've included a link from the video of that day so you can see the action. Until next time, Good Fishing! https://youtu.be/ZFcgwII5be4
