I ran short on time on my trip to Coulee Dam the other day. I was thinking about running up to Keller or Spring Canyon, but I was just up the hill in town when I finished my meeting, so I gave Crescent Bay a try. There is a nice stretch of sandy beach here, and some picnic tables and a vault toilet. I have a friend who lives in Coulee Dam, and he has great luck catching rainbow here. It started to rain when I got out my gear and one rod. I got that baited and placed in my rod holder and went to my truck to get my rain coat. When I got back to the beach I noticed my line was slack and when I reeled it in my bait was gone. Durn. I rebaited and cast out and in about ten minutes I had a nice 15-inch rainbow on. Now it was really raining. My mission was to see if the fishing was any good here, and although I had only been there about a half hour, I learned what I needed to know. Fishing can be quite good here and the rainbow are very nice.
