It’s just a week away, and if you haven’t made plans to fish the Northern Pikeminnow Derby in Crescent Bar, better get to it. The derby is being held by the Quincy Valley Tourism Association, the same folks that did the Tagged Trout Derby this past spring, and it should be a good time for families. Not only should participating anglers enjoy great weather and good fishing, there is a chance to win some really big money at this one. There will be 10 tagged fish released and they will worth a total of $30,000.00 if caught. In addition, there is another $10,000.00 in cash and prizes up for grabs. Winners will be judged by total catch weight and even single catch weight. The entry fee for the derby is $20.00 for adults, and kids under the age of 16 can fish for free. Cash and prizes will be awarded in adult and youth divisions. You can get all the details about the derby, including a registration form, by logging onto FishingMagician.com, and clicking on the Derby logo on the right hand side of my Home Page. These folks really know how to put on a good event. Everyone will have a great time, even if they don’t finish in the money.
