Fans of fishing for triploid rainbow trout will be pleased to know that the Colville Tribe recently released 10,000 fish into Rufus Woods Reservoir last week. The fish averaged 1.2 pounds. All trout are adipose fin clipped. Anglers are encouraged to share their catch information with Colville fish checkers at the ramps or on the shore. Keep an eye for the details on the annual Quincy Trout Derby held on Burke Lake this year. It is planned for Saturday, March 5th, if the ice is off the lake. There are many changes to this year’s derby to make it possible for more anglers to win cash and prizes at the event. People who are interested should visit my web site at fishingmagician.com and click on the “Something is Fishy in Quincy” logo. This will open the Quincy Valley Tourism Association’s web site with the most current derby information. Keep trying until you see the updated version. There will be an ad in the February 18th Nickel Ads Newspapers throughout the region that will also have some details. A boat and motor will be the grand prize, awarded through a drawing at this year’s event. It promises to be even more fun this year!
