Okay, here’s the plan. I have been checking the forecasts and it looks like it is going to be fairly warm with a slight breeze on Potholes this Saturday. My boat is covered with snow right now, but I am going to get it cleared off, get the batteries charged and make a run down there. What’s got me so interested that I would go to all this trouble? Big rainbow. Last summer just about every time I fished Potholes we caught a big rainbow, and I mean 22 to 24 inches. I have been getting reports of them being caught from the shore at Medicare Beach, which is on the east shore of reservoir. I can throw the boat in at the West Bridge launch, across from Perch Point, and start fishing as soon as I get the boat turned around. I am going to either just flat line Flicker Shads, Rapalas or Mag Lip 3.5s or run them out on side planers. By trolling up the shoreline here I should run into something. I may even get a walleye or two doing this, but the big rainbow is what I am after. Wish me luck and I will be sure to tell you how I do.
