I have been getting great reports about the walleye fishing on Moses Lake. My brother Rick told me that he had limited on his last two trips. Austin Moser has been sending me photos of huge catches for his clients. He is also getting limits regularly on Moses Lake. With all these terrific reports you’d think I would be down there like a shot. Oh no. I got two new kokanee rods and talked my wife Eileen into going to Lake Chelan and try them out. What a goof. I saw a lot of boats near Lakeside so I joined them to get in on the action. There wasn’t any. I was marking a lot of fish, but they must have been cutthroat. I got a fat 14-inch cutthroat and left. I tried several spots and no one was catching anything. I was trolling back to the Mill Bay launch in 20 feet of water an--Wham. We got a double. One was a kokanee! It wasn’t big but it was a kokanee, and I avoided getting skunked. Whew. The other fish was a small cutthroat. I am sure the bite will come back on and there will be good fishing on Lake Chelan. I hope I am there when it does.
