By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Hopefully by now you've heard of the opening for fishing Chinook on the Icicle River starts Monday. Daily limit is two, adult hatchery Spring Chinook salmon. Several years ago when they opened both the Icicle and the Wenatchee Rivers to fish for springers, Dave and I went with Shane Magnuson of Upper Columbia Guide Service. I thought the video turned out great, not just because we had a great day catching fish, but because Shane took the time to show us his setup for fishing these waters. You see, Shane literally grew up fishing the Icicle River. He's originally from Leavenworth and went to Cascade High School. He tells me stories of riding his bike up to fish the Icicle from the bank. It was just this kid and the old timers. That's how he learned all the holes on this stretch of water and, over the years, developed recipes for success in catching nice fish. You can check out the video on our YouTube page (https://youtu.be/hahRz_0Xsy4). It's also been another great year for kokanee fishing on Lake Chelan with plenty of nice, large fish to be had. Until next time, Good Fishing!
