It’s here already. The Wenatchee Salmon Derby kicks off this Friday, and timing is perfect this year for excellent fishing. This is the second annual and the organizers did a great job on the first one, so this one will be even better. There is still time to register for the event. Just log onto www.wenatcheesalmonderby.com to get the rules and registration information. When you are deciding what to sign up for be sure to plan on attending the derby banquet on Sunday. Everyone had a great time and won a ton of prizes whether they caught a fish or didn’t even fish in the derby. My wife was surprised to win a hundred dollar gas card from the Triangle Texaco in Brewster. Tom Kallas from Hooked on Toys put her name on it and put in the bucket! Heck I was the real winner. I used the gas to fish at Brewster. Anyway that’s just part of the fun of these derbies. So if you haven’t signed up yet, do it today. You’ll have a great time. Don’t forget, about the Brewster Derby. It’s coming up the first weekend in August again. I have a feeling the fishing is going to be off the charts good for this one this year.
