By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. Saturday was the first day in as long as I can remember when I was on a body of water for over 5-hours but didn't have a tackle box, fishing rod or anything with me. Marion and I were invited to go with a group of people to float the Icicle River near Leavenworth. This is the time of year that hoards of people flock to the chilly waters to cool off from the summer heat and lazily float on inner tubes and air mattresses for hours-on-end. We put in just below the fisher hatchery and floated all the way down to Leavenworth, which took about 5-hours. We had an extra tube tethered to our tubes that contained a cooler full of food and beverages to enjoy the day. At one point, Marion looked over at me as I relaxed in the sunshine with my head back on the tube and said, "see, you would probably be working today!" Which, she's right. Once in a while, you owe it to yourself to just sit back and let the waters take you without trying to be in control of everything. Until next time, Good Fishing!
