By Eric Granstrom

For FishingMagician.com I'm Eric Granstrom. Honestly, I'm amazed I even like to eat fish. At 11-years old, my Mom took me to the airport in Bellingham. I boarded a plane and flew to Sea-Tac. Got off that plane and got on another one and flew to Anchorage. Got off that plane and onto a smaller one and flew to King Salmon. Got off that plane and onto an even smaller one and flew to Naknek. Got off that plane and onto an even smaller one and flew to a beach, landing on the sand. Then I got on a skiff and rode out to my Dad's gillnet fishing boat. He handed me some Bonine, a beer and said "Welcome to Alaska!" All this at ELEVEN! In my family, it was just part of life to go to work in the fishing industry, it really wasn't a choice. Over the course of 11-summers, I put my hands on hundreds of thousands of salmon. We ate salmon every day. Marion went through the freezer the other night and found a couple salmon fillets. I grilled them in the pan and the memories of Alaska flooded my mind. The fish and the memories were delicious. Until next time, Good Fishing!
