By Dave Graybill

Where did August go? This month has flown by and soon the kids will be back in school. There isn’t much time left to get them outside to enjoy all the great things to do in our region. I was lucky enough to have a Dad that made sure that we spent many days camping, hiking and fishing when I was a youngster. It had tremendous impact on us kids. Heck, it made the joy of fishing my full time job! I have been an outdoor writer since the 70s and a broadcaster of fishing reports since the 90s. My brother Rick Graybill was a full time guide for 15 years, and now spends his days helping people be more successful at fishing at Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee. We feel blessed that we grew up in an outdoor family and have dedicated ourselves to sharing the joy of fishing. There is an opportunity to go to one of the State Parks in our region for free. Sunday, August 25th is one of the Free Days that are scheduled every year when you don’t need a Discovery Pass to access our State Parks. Visit the State Parks web site for the details.
