For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. When I was a kid, the month of August meant one more month of freedom. Summer still had one-third of it remaining! But now a days, the first of August means you pack up your beach towels and fishing rods because summer is over. What?! Wait a minute! What happened here?! The kids are already heading back to school next week. Now, I know for some Moms out there, the first day of school can't come soon enough. What happened to Labor Day weekend being the end of summer? At least they finally got the high school football schedule right. Unlike the past four or five seasons, prep football teams don't play their first games until September 6th. I'm not sure if it's because I'm older, but I don't like having my summer pushed around so much. I was in the grocery store the other day and they already have Halloween stuff up. Really?! I'm going to do all I can to hang onto summer until it's over. Which, by the way isn't officially until September 23rd! So I'm wearing shorts, applying sunscreen, and fishing my heart out a while longer. Until next time, Good Fishing!
