For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. I saw a note from Fish and Wildlife that there was a change earlier this week for the fishing boundaries on the Cowlitz River in Western Washington. This triggered a memory of a trip I took to Fish Camp with my buddy Jimmy Grover and others back in 2014. We were supposed to be fishing the Humptulips but a Pineapple Express hit just a few days before the trip and blew it out. So instead, we headed for the Cowlitz to chase after some Fall Coho. We'd be fishing with Jared Cady of Get 'em Dry Guide Service who also has his own line of twitching jigs. He enlisted the help of Mike Kancianich of MK Sports Fishing and Nate Bryant with West Coast Anglers to put us in jet boats to bomb up and down the Cowlitz below the Barrier Dam and drift eggs and some pencil led as well as do some twitch fishing. The first day was an absolute downpour. Day two was much drier. We found fish up and down the river. Check out the video of our trip on our YouTube page (https://youtu.be/Ohu1lBikZzc). Until next time, Good Fishing!
