Welcome to December. I’m sure envious of those who have shops with heat to keep their boats in this time of year. I had to wrestle with a cover that had frozen ice and snow on it off my boat to get it ready for a trip to Chelan. When I got to Mill Bay, the first thing I did is use the wash down hose to melt the ice off the deck so we wouldn’t fall down. It was a pretty clear day on Chelan but the wind was blowing harder than I expected. I ran down lake and started trolling across from Rocky Point. We went with no bites for quite a while and then got two doubles. I still didn’t like the action here so Tom Verschueren and I decided to run up to the Yacht Club. We have done well there before and we were tired of getting knocked around by the wind. We should have stayed and toughed it out. It was terrible up there. We did get another fish near the State Park, but all in all it was the poorest day of kokanee fishing I have had so far this fall and early winter.
