For FishingMagician.com, I'm Eric Granstrom. The holidays are upon us and for a kid, there's nothing like that anticipation of what you may get for Christmas. And if you're a kid who loves to fish, there's nothing like seeing a present under the tree with your name on it that's awkwardly wrapped with wrinkles all over, gobs of tape, and obviously in the shape of a fishing pole with the tell-tale signs that Dad wrapped it. I remember one Christmas when I was 9 when I found just the circumstance under our tree for me. It killed me to have to wait and wait and wait until Christmas Eve when we got to pick one present to open. I knew exactly which one I'd choose as soon as I saw it. Sure enough, to my wide-eyed amazement, it was a brand new fishing pole with my first bail-flip reel. Of course, that's the problem with getting something like that Christmas too. I'd have to wait MONTHS to be able to actually use it! So just remember that if you're giving the gift of fishing gear this Christmas. How long will we have to wait to use it.
